T here is no Special A nor My Heavenly Hockey Club nor Alive nor any of the manga and manhwa with perfect or near-perfect attendance records (previously) in the m&c! release lists. Not this August anyway. What we can look forward to later this month is volume four of Pure Love Kamikaze Captain (Jun'ai Tokkou Taichou!) AKA Love Attack as compensation.

Also, a special note on this popular soonjung manhwa series by Yoon JiUn, the North American license of which was rescued when Yen Press absorbed ICE Kunion. m&c! sez it is releasing volume 2 this August. My question: When did it release volume 1?

Waah! It's 13 new series/standalones versus five finales. My wallet is whimpering...

By original publisher
Excluding the unknowns that would've skewed shares (they dominate at 27.5 percent), we're left with Kodansha as the publisher with the most titles (6) this August, followed surprisingly by Culturecom (5), before Shogakukan and Hakusensha come to a stalemate at four manga each.

By genre
More than half of the releases are shoujo/soonjung, but shounen coughs up a respectable 37 percent share.
