Eyeshield 21 again leaves other Elex manga yellow (jaundiced), with the number of volume 17 Get! commitments from EMO post-ers. Someone had observed the quick turnaround from volume 16 (only one week) and I echo similar hopes of continued speedy Eyeshield releases—not for my sake, though. Not following this series, but I understand the ahh!gony of bait-and-withhold.

If I had my mwahahah! way, I'd ask for a faster cranking out of Katou Motohiro-sensei's shounen tantei manga Q.E.D.—except the Indonesian release (the upcoming volume 29) has nearly caught up with the Japanese run. This installment of Touma-kun's cases is temporarily second in popularity poll.

The rest of the Wanteds (order might still change) are: Adachi Mitsuru-sensei's Touch volume 8, the second volume of Nakaji Yuki-sensei's Zig-Zag, and volume 5 of Hinata no Ookami - Shinsengumi Kidan, released in Indonesia as Wolf's Sanctuary. And speaking of the latter seinen series by Saitoh Misaki-sensei, volume 5 is not yet the final tankō, according to the September Komikologi Elex bulletin that includes an entry for Wolf's Sanctuary 6.

I also ought to mention that another notable seinen release—volume 15 of Isshiki Makoto-sensei's Piano no Mori (or Piano Hutan)—likewise streets 17 September.

release commentary

No series concludes this release but you might want to keep an eye out for Natural Pearl Pink which is already on its penultimate installment. That is, if you hadn't finished it in its serialized form in HanaLaLa.

There's only one new manga this list: Fumizuki Kyoko-sensei's Pocketful of Happiness that was supposed to come out in August. Below is my translation of the Elex summary.

Pocketful of Happiness

Up and coming actress Yukari descended from a line of witches. One day, news breaks out that she has gotten married and retired from the world of celebrities. Yukari's mom rejects her choice and does everything she can to split up the couple; she eventually succeeds in shrinking Yukari's husband to the size of a Ken doll. This is bad news since Yukari's husband just got the role of a lifetime. What else is Yukari to do, other than rescue her soul mate by pretending to be him?
