Eyeshield21 v19, One Piece 48, Busou Renkin 3, Fruits Basket 19: Elex Media 15 October 2008 manga

フルーツバスケット 19

Eyeshield 21 continues its unbroken streak, with the next volume charging into Elex Media's weekly manga sked for the fourth time in a row.

After the two-week hiatus for the Idul Fitri (Eid ul-Fitr) holidays, we not only get a new Eyeshield, we also land one new makita, Kisah Petualangan Dede ("Dede's Adventure") by komikus Imanami that until this post's publication, resists efforts at a Googled out synopsis. But no matter. Netting the finale to Delusive Voice (originally Usotsuki Voice), the latest installments of One Piece (volume 48), Busou Renkin (volume 3), and Fruits Basket (volume 19), plus the fifth manga-ized Sherlock Holmes that, like Eyeshield, last released its prevenient volume on 24 September 2008, more than compensate.

Other popular Get!'s for the 15 October schedule: the MÄR Omega and Mieru Hito penultimates (volumes 3 and 6 respectively), Tail of the Moon 8, and after a hiatus lasting longer than a fortnight, Adachi Mitsuru-sensei's Short Program (volume 3).

release blah-blah

By original publisher
Eyeshield 21 isn't the only Shonen Jump manga to street this mid-October. There's also Busou Renkin, Dragon Drive, Mieru Hito, and One Piece. That's not to say though that it's an all-Shueisha fest, despite this publisher posting the most number of manga in the list; Shogakukan pitches in five titles, three of which were serialized in Shonen Sunday: Libero Revolution!!, Lum, The Invader Girl, and MÄR Omega. While I don't know whether the Short Program stories appeared in the Shonen Sunday magazine, as Adachi Mitsuru-sensei titles are wont to do, these were published under the Shonen Sunday imprint. Additionally, once we factor out the titles in serialization in the Indonesian Shonen Magz, Kodansha contributes only one manga from Shounen Magazine and that is Et Cetera.

By genre
Shōnen any way you squint; there's 12 titles, including the sonyun Yureka 13 manhwa. Shōjo with only half that total (that number already includes the soonjung Princess 29) lags 28 percentage points from shōnen's 57 percent.
