If the rumored 28 January manga list is right, Elex will end January with a 50-tankoubon, two-box set and four-mangazine count. What this would mean for the Commitment versus Fulfillment index I'm tracking monthly is something I will discuss in another post.
As for this list, of the nine tankou releasing (minus another One Piece collection and the first Conan manga box set), five shounen titles catch up from an initial December schedule. IOW, we're looking at a 55-percent Resked here. They are: B'T X 13, Ge Ge Ge Kitaro 5, Sersan Keroro 13, Hayate the Combat Butler 10, and Lum, The Invader Girl 6 (that I speculated would be part of the 28 January batch and got right).
The remaining tetrad—Meteodo 3 (penultimate volume), Tsubasa 7, and two new series, Roadside Angel and TOTO!—are original January releases. Roadside Angel AKA Michibata no Tenshi by Emura-sensei is a HanaLaLa graduate, while TOTO! by Osada Yu-Ko-sensei finished serialization in Shonen Magz, the latest issue of which (#55) streets the day before the manga volumes do. Synopses/blurbs after the list. (BTW, the same ShoMagz premieres another supernatural series, Ghost Doctor (Youkai no Oisha-san) AKA Yokai Doctor by Satou Yuuki-sensei.)
