In Happy Café volume 11, we found out that Uru wants to be a father when she grows up. Rather, she wants to be a Sensei like her father, the desire tracing back to Uru-chan wishing to console her mom after dad's passing — which ultimately ties in with her present pursuit of and happiness for all.

What do the rest of Café Bonheur have to say about Uru's ambitions? Looking forward to this (especially Shindou-san and Ichirou-kun's take) in Happy Café volume 12 which releases next Wednesday.

New manga

m&c! brings out four standalone manga: Let's Make a Wish by Takebayashi Sao, Let's Meet at School Tonight by Chiba Kozue, Midnight Express by Yasuko, and My Summer Love by Shibano Yuka. Two series debut — Mr. Super Clean by Tobina Touya (shoujo) and Yowamushi Pedal, Go! by Watanabe Wataru (shounen). This being an m&c! release, there was bound to be one title that resisted research efforts and it is Let's Make a Wish by Takebayashi Sao. If you know what it is, do leave a comment.

Midnight Express by the manga-ka of Yumenara Samenaide is the Mayonaka Express anthology that also contains Monday is a Secret Romance and Class 2-G's Romeo and Juliet!, in addition to the title story.

Let's Meet at School Tonight by Chiba Kozue is undoubtedly Yoru no Gakkou e Oide Yo!, about orphan Hayasaka Yoru who encounters a different side to her classmate Yamane one night at school. [Adapted from Intercross's summary, excerpted by Baka-Updates Manga]

m&c! actually has a blurb for My Summer Love or Taiyou ga Yonde Iru! by Shibano Yuka (creator of 1/3 Romantica): Rino hates baseball because the sport evokes sad memories of her brother. Her outlook changes after pitcher Hibiya coaxes her into becoming the manager of the baseball club and promises to take her to Koshien. As for the new series, Mr. Super Clean AKA Keppeki Shounen Kanzen Soubi stars the compulsive clean-freak Sata Senda who is so bacteria-phobic that he arrives for a school trip in a version of a Hazmat suit. [Adapted from Karma Falls Scanslations' series description, excerpted by Baka-Upates Manga]

Finales

Two series end this Wednesday: Gift - Under the Rainbow and .hack//XXXX (both conclude at volume 2). The long-running Gash Bell is on its penultimate volume (#32), but considering the wait time between releases, I'm not expecting it finish anytime soon. (Saying so begs for the opposite to happen, which should heartwarm Gash Bell readers.)
