I promised in the upcoming Elex December manga post that I would attach the list of other Elex manga that might release this month — those excluded from the latest Komikologi lineup. Here t'is.

I don't really have a pressing DO WANT! from this batch like I did the last time, but maybe you do.

Seventy-one manga, manhua, manhwa, and homegrown Indonesian graphic novels and one shoujo title—Red Haired Snow White—sticks out like a clichéd thumb.

And no wonder. Because that IS Akagami no Shirayukihime by Akizuki Sorata, one of the sweetest medieval faerie tales around. Kyaaa~! *dies* I approve of Elex bringing Zen to these parts — to our delirious fangirl delight. *Cue more squeeing and swooning*

Now, if only the latest Komikologi got it right and Elex *does* release Akagami no Shirayukihime 1 this month — like it did Takahashi Hiroshi's Worst prequel Crows, or will. (I'm not counting Fantastic Tales, The Real Fake Princess, and Steel Rose as true December premieres because they had been slated to release in November. Sames goes for Library War - Love & War 1, Nephylym 1, The Puppet Master Lin 1, and continuing teases The Familiar of Zero 1 and Kampfer 1 that reappear in this schedule.)

As indicated, the December list embraces two new local offerings: a standalone, The Comic Club, about a couple of college kids on their way to fulfilling manga-ka dreams and the futuristic spy thriller The Fifth Columnist. The intriguingly titled series starring Bishop and Helix is created by one very friendly Andrea Tezumo who styles herself a part-time manga artist, full-time writer/journalist. « Edit: Andrea-sensei sez we have to wait till January for The Fifth volume 1.

Speaking of artists, manga-ka (and doujinka) Kayama Yumi, known mostly for illustrating yaoi, makes it into this month's list with two shoujo titles first published by Kodansha KC Dessert. Apparently subsumed under the Toki wo Kaketa Shoujotachi umbrella, they are: Innocent Love Story 「 幕末純愛伝説～時をかけた少女たち～ 」 and Youth Love Story (Nakumatsu (Bakumatsu?) Seishun Densetsu: Toki wo Kaketa Shoujotachi Shinsengumihen 「 幕末青春伝説　新選組編～時をかけた少女た 」). The stories are set during the days of the Tokugawa shogunate. Innocent Love Story features the geisha Ikumatsu who holds on to the dream of love even in the midst of social unrest, while Youth Love Story tells of the love triangle between Shinsengumi commander Kondo Isami, the geisha Miyuki who would become Kondo's paramour, and Miyuki's younger sister Ko.

Meanwhile, another Kodansha shoujo title, Innocent World, is also slated for release in December. Yamada Daisy's highly introspective school life manga is the latest Nakayoshi Gress! alumnus to come out in tankou. (And yes, that IS its original title; the Kayama Yumi manga is the one that smacks of running out of ideas for titles.) Other Naka graduates have included Kitchen Princess, How to Make a Prince, and School x Fight.

I would've sed the last True!December new series was Zhang Yong Ren's Weapon Master, the five-volume shounen martial arts manhua Shen Qi Wang about Shao Tian's guardianship of a deadly family heirloom, but the cryptic Let's Play! is again advised. The premiere this time, as opposed to the volume 2 reported in November, making that the last.
