This time, she's gone too far | The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2 premieres 6 April 2011 on Animax Asia

That's tonight at 730PM WIB (UTC+7). Animax's season 2 starts with Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, unlike the Japanese TV 2009 renewal, which mixes old and new episodes and opens with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Part 1.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Season 2 premieres 6 April 2011, 730PM WIB, on Animax Asia and airs every Wednesday thereafter. Starting 13 April, however, airing time moves up to 7PM, with two episodes telecast back to back.

Plot-wise, the Animax synopsis holds no surprises:

The second season of the hit series sees Haruhi Suzumiya and the SOS Brigade continuing their crazy search for aliens, espers and time travelers.

I mentioned the season 2 opener Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and the difference with the Japanese broadcast because Animax Asia hasn't aired the first season (correct me if I'm wrong). In any case, the second time around still retains the original SOS Brigade seiyuu: Hirano Aya as Suzumiya Haruhi, Sugita Tomokazu as Kyon, Goto Yuko as Asahina Mikuru, Chihara Minori as Nagato Yuki and Ono Daisuke as Koizumi Itsuki (although going by Animax's promo plugs, its version might be dubbed in English ><). The godly Kyoto Animation animated both seasons that aired in Japan between April and July 2006 and from April to October 2009.

The anime is based on the Suzumiya Haruhi light novels by Tanigawa Nagaru, illustrated by Ito Noizi. The ongoing manga adapt by Tsugano Gaku is not yet licensed for the Indonesian market, but English versions are available from Chuang Yi and Yen Press. Chuang Yi's version is up to volume 7, with the eighth advertised as an Upcoming; Yen Press has logged eight The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya manga, with volume 9 expected to street August 2011.
