Misaki No.1!!
by Level Comics

Roppongi's #1 cabaret hostess Tennoji Misaki switches careers and becomes a high school teacher. And not just at any high school, mind you. It's an all-boys school, and Misaki is appointed the homeroom teacher of a class of hooky-playing troublemakers.

Can Misaki bring enough of the charm that rocketed her to most popular hostess to bear on this exclusive institution? At least enough to entice the students back to class?

From the creator of Wild Life comes a GTO/Gokusen-esque tale of a teacher who changes students' lives. So if you're a fan of either series, Don't miss this! advises Level.

Two Misaki Number One!! tankou have been released in Japan as of February this year. (That's nearly a three-year gap between volumes 1 and 2.) The manga remains current, however, serializing in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits and companion magazine, Monthly Big Comic Spirits AKA Gekkan! Spirits.

Other Fujisaki Masato manga
So I've already covered 10.12 debut Misaki Number One!! and name-dropped Wild Life, the award-winning Shonen Sunday series that concluded June 2008 in Japan (final volume 27; Elex Media's version is up to volume 20, and the shounen manga continues to serialize in the Indonesian Shonen Star).

Fujisaki Masato's other manga include Bug, a shounen horror manga (three of three GOTTA COMICS volumes published between 2000.12 and 2001.07) and Akumugari AKA Hunting Nightmare (with writer Oosawa Arimasa; one Shonen Sunday Super volume per 2011.03). Fujisaki Masato-sensei is also credited with Duel Masters Hao Den Gachi (CoroCoro Comics volume 1 JP street date: 2011.10.28).

Lanfeust of Troy -
Gading Magohamoth

by Elex Media/Level Comics

Troy is one wonderful world, populated by people possessed of magical powers such as walking on water and teleportation. Apprentice blacksmith Lanfeust is no exception: he can heat metal by willpower. The only limitation is that the Trojans can only wield their powers in the presence of the sage of Eckmül.

Lanfeust's life changes when he repairs an aristocrat's sword. Handling the sword's Magohamoth ivory pommel grants Lanfeust absolute power, one he can use even without the sage. Accompanied by local elder Nicolede and his daughters Ci'an and Cixi, Lanfeust journeys to the University of Magic in Eckmül to learn more about his new ability. [Additions from Wikipedia's Lanfeust of Troy synopsis]

Elex notes the usual has been translated into many languages, but what made my ears prick is that there's also a Lanfeust of Troy Play Station game.

I don't know whether Level moved Gading Magohamoth from its original 22 September street date to 12 October to double-launch it with volume 2, Thanos Si Pengacau, but that move allows us to meet Thanos—who possesses the same power as Lanfeust—STAT!
