Tales of the Abyss premieres 5 January 2012, Thursday, 630pm WIB (UTC+7), on Animax Asia and airs every weekday thereafter. It replaces Beelzebub.

The Tales of the Abyss anime adapts the PS2 RPG developed by Namco Tales Studio, published by Namco in Japan and Namco Bandai Games in North America, the eighth mothership title in the Tales series, released to mark Tales' 10th anniversary. Original character designs are from Fujishima Kousuke. Sunrise's 26-episode adaptation first aired from October 2008 to March 2009, directed by Kodama Kenji (Kekkaishi, City Hunter), with series composition by Omode Akemi (Kyou Kara Maoh, Princess Princess). TV Tropes warns that the anime suffers from Adaptation Induced Plot Holes due to the compression of the story...so they don't make any sense to people not familiar with the video game.
