Electric Daisy 10, Images of You 4 of 4, Canvas ~ Rainbow Sketch 1 by Kodama Miki (m&c! 29 February 2012 manga) [UPDATED]

Update: Added other ongoing Cherry serials

Electric Daisy 10 (m&c!)

Dengeki Daisy © Motomi Kyousuke/Shogakukan
[Serialized in Betsucomi]
Published in Indonesia as Electric Daisy by Gramedia/m&c!

The Hyperion project to resurrect the Jack'O Frost virus is deep-sixed and the organization behind it dismantled. But Akira, still at large, remains a threat to Teru and Kurosaki. Meanwhile, the person supposedy privy to Kurosaki's "secret" also goes after Teru.

Whachuu gonna do, Tasuku? You look all grim and determined there on the much-awaited Electric Daisy 10 cover. :D

Electric Daisy volume 10 compiles Files 45 through 49: Test & Trial, Can't Always Look Pretty, Daisy Bell, Rena's Fiancé and Keep the Frustration in One's Bosom.

Ten Dengeki Daisy volumes have been published in Japan as of November 2011, which means m&c!'s version has caught up — even if only for a month. The Japanese volume 11 streets 26 March, and treats fangirls to six pack abs and the stunning sleeping face of Kurosaki!—oh, OK, I'll let you enjoy volume 10 first :D

Images of You vol 4 of 4
By Goto Junpei

Matataki departs for Spain after confessing to Mirai. Mirai later finds out about the "future death photograph" and follows Matataki. Only one more day remains before the prophetic picture comes true...

Can Matataki and Mirai find happiness? The answer lies in the touching (mengharukan, sez m&c!) Images of You finale.

New m&c! titles
m&c! launches Canvas ~ Rainbow Sketch by Kodama Miki, the Shonen Ace manga adapt of the FC01 FANDC visual novel, Canvas 2 - Nijiiro no Sketch. Preview, if you need it, after the release list.

Mangazines: Cherry February 2012 Edition Cherry February 2012 Edition
The regular Cherry is back, but this issue isn't numbered 62 per expected. Instead, it's the February 2012 Edition, and I don't think that's just to differentiate it from Cherry Love Special that streeted the day after Valentine's.

At any rate, numbered or not, for sure My Lovely Class Leader by Nishimura Tomoko (that I'm near certain is this issue's front cover) returns with a new installment—episode 38 ex-Gokujou!! Mechamote Iinchou volume 11—along with I am not a Maid! by Iwaoka Meme (Episode 12 from Maid ja Naimon! volume 3) and Yomogi Loves Money? by Arai Kiyoko (Episode 13 from Yomogi Mochi Yaketa? volume 3). Even if Dawn Aria by Akaishi Michiyo doesn't appear on the cover, I'm pretty sure that's still ongoing. Unless Akatsuki no Aria finished in Japan when I wasn't paying attention. Edit: It is, with Episode 39 from Akatsuki no Aria volume 11. [Continued...]

Eternal Sabbath vol 8 of 8

Have A Good Night! by Yamazaki Sayaka

There are nights when a woman just needs a man at her side.

Shio hasn't had a good night's sleep since her husband left. But one night, she sleeps soundly — in the arms of her brother-in-law Gai!

Cure for insomnia found, Shio opens up "Stripe Sheep" for women can't fall asleep without a man beside them. She has to keep her side business under wraps, though, especially from Yanagihara who's been getting (too) close lately.

Have A Good Night! or Shima Shima first serialized in Morning in 2008; 12 Seinen with a (Strong) Female Lead, Insomnia, Divorce, Loneliness, Reverse Harem volumes were compiled between July 2008 and October 2010. The slice of life manga was adapted into a live-action renzoku in 2011, starring Yada Akiko (Natsuigawa Reiko in Voice) as Houkigi Shio, with Miura Shohei (Nakatsu Shuichi in Hanazakari no Kimitachi e 2011), Kikuta Daisuke (Kazuki Shuhei, Kaito Royale), Suzuki Katsuhiro (Noe Shinji, HanaKimi 2011) and Fukushi Sota (Murano Sota, Misaki Number One!!) as Shio's four “sheep” Tamabuki Gai, Futaba Ran, Hayashida Rindou and Makomo Shuuji.

☞ Snap review I admit I tried Have A Good Night! solely on the maximum-strength basis of the dorama eyecandy and while the art doesn't quite match up, I enjoyed it immensely. How much? I actually read the first eight episodes sleepy (it was one in the morning), but I. Still. Finished. Shio-neesan does live up to that Strong Female Lead tag and her characterization rings true. As for her Reverse Harem, brother-in-law Gai shows promise. Am definitely reading volume 2 when it comes out—oh, rating? A solid 7.75 of 10 :)

Shima Shima manga-ka Yamazaki Sayaka also created Haruka 17. [Continued...]

Oh. ROMIC Suske & Wiske also premieres with Setengah Havelaar (Suske en Wiske 310: De halve Havelaar), after having been back-burnered since last December. In this volume, Suske and Wiske (or Spike and Suzy or Bob et Bobette or Willy and Wanda, depending on which language version you're reading), try to save a manuscript about colonial oppression from never seeing the light of a printing press.

Dragon's Fiance 3, Popcorn 1 Deluxe by Shoji Yoko, Blooming Youth 11 (Elex Media 29 February 2012 manga)

Popcorn 1 Deluxe (Elex Media)

Seito Shokun! © Shoji Yoko/Kodansha
Published in Indonesia as Popcorn by Elex Media

I forgot which tweep mentioned it, but yes, it BOGGLES that Elex retitled Seito Shokun! Popcorn. Sure, the Deluxe reissue simply follows its predecessor tankou's naming, but still — Whyyyy? Ah, well, my curiosity will just have to go unsatisfied.

You might already know what Popcorn or Seito Shokun! is all about from the dorama AKA Attention Students! that DramaWiki tells me was actually based on the sequel Seito Shokun! - Kyoushihen. But let's backtrack to the original manga classic before Kitashiro Naoko—Nakki—became a teacher:

Transfer student Nakki wins over friends and influences people in her new school, largely through her unfailing cheer. With Iwasaki, Nakki forms a group of five (pranksters) and later, meets her first love Tobishima-senpai.

Nakki not only makes a success of the the school Sports Week, she also helps Mr. Kaneda with his love life. If only her own would follow the same fast track: something happens to Tobishima-senpai when he hands over his painting to Nakki.

Elex urges you to follow the award-winning exploits of Nakki and friends (Seito Shokun! won the second Kodansha Manga Award in 1978 in the shoujo category), promising sweet and bitter, love and hope — everything that makes teenage life unforgettable. Especially if you missed the its initial 24-volume run. Except... each volume retails for IDR 28,500, and you will only have to shell that out...12 times. *sweatdrop*

Manga-ka Shoji Yoko followed up Seito Shokun! first serialized in Kodansha's Shoujo Friend with a side story, Seito Shokun! - Gaiden: Okita Narutoshi-hen - Broken Brothers in April 1984, before starting the sequel Seito Shokun! - Kyoushihen in Be Love (home to 2nd Manga Taisho awardee Chihayafuru) in 2003. Twenty-five Seito Shokun! - Kyoushihen have been collected as of August 2011. Nakki's story continues in Seito Shokun! - Saishuushou Tabidachi, also serialized in Be Love. (Three volumes have been published between August 2011 and February 2012.)

I continue with the other Shoji Yoko manga after the release list. (Warning: there are A LOT.) For now, the top DO WANT!
