The I Love You, Suzuki kun!! Official Fan Book reportedly supplies not-in-the-manga insider info on Sayaka, Chihiro, Hikaru and Shinobu from the time they were still middle-schoolers, plus character reviews from Ikeyamada Go-sensei and trivia that would only be of interest, I mean, thrill any Suki desu, Suzuki-kun!! fangirl/boy (including myself).

As for the lowdown on volume 12 —

Hikaru jumps off a cliff to save Sayaka. Sayaka finally realizes that she loves Hikaru, but is torn between that love and her gratitude to Takumi who has been her strength all this time. Hikaru, meanwhile, renews his vow to never let Sayaka go; his determination could be the key to Sayaka recapturing her lost memories...

Per earlier volumes, I Love You, Suzuki kun!! 12 is rated for [DEWASA] or Mature audiences.

BTW, can anyone confirm that Suki desu Suzuki-kun!! ends in volume 14? The Japanese synops I found for that tankou (2011.12.26 JP street date) opens with: The completion of the second part! (ついに第2部完結！！). Unless there's a third or college arc, I'm assuming that volume 14 is the series finale. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong (comment box's down there).

The first anime OAD was bundled with Sho-Comi's first 2010 issue (released 2009.12; chapter 1 reenactment), the second with the Suki desu Suzuki-kun!! Official Fanbook (shipped 2010.07; chapters 15 and 16 re-enactment). Seiyuu Asakura Azumi, Oda Hirofumi, Iwasaki Ryō and Isshiki Mayu voiced Hoshino Sayaka, Suzuki Hikaru, Suzuki Shinobu and Itō Chihiro respectively.

Two light novels written by Tokiumi Yui and illustrated by Ikeyamada Go have also been released. The first, Suki desu Suzuki-kun!! Pure White Love (2009.12.24), detailed Hikaru and Sayaka's relationship during the couple's last year of middle school. The second Suki desu Suzuki-kun!! With Precious Heart light novel (2010.07.26) is set before the high school arc/between manga volumes 7 and 8.

A Nintendo DS game—Suki desu Suzuki-kun!! ~Yo-nin no Suzuki-kun—released in 2010.07. Per the title, the game introduces two new Ikeyamada-sensei designed characters also surnamed Suzuki: Suzuki Michiru (voiced by Hoshi Sōichirō) and Suzuki Hiroto (Nakamura Yūichi). Game versions of Sayaka, Hikaru, Shinobu and Chihiro were voiced by Takita Juri, Miyata Kōki, Kondou Takashi and Taketatsu Ayana. A limited edition of the Idea Factory game came with a drama CD featuring a story about the four main characters.

So goes Fukazawa's pep talk to future Tour de France champ Shinozaki Mikoto in this week's Elex debut OverDrive. I assume the quoted Fukazawa refers to Fukazawa Yosuke, the Uncrowned King and school bike club's fanatical captain, and not his little sister Yuki whom Mikoto is crushing on. As Mikoto would become the first Japanese to win the Tour de France, let's sub-title this Weekly Shonen Magazine manga, "The Legend of Mikoto," shall we?

☛ Over Drive was adapted into anime in 2007 by Studio XEBEC (26 episodes spanning manga volumes 1–5 of a total 17). Seiyuu Kaji Yuuki voiced Unpopular Protagonist (or so Baka-Updates Manga users tag) Shinozaki Mikoto, with Yasumura Makoto as Fukazawa Yousuke and Nazuka Kaori as Fukazawa Yuki.

Over Drive isn't the only Elex manga premiere; there's also Aoba Bicycle Shop, which likewise tropes in bikes, but focuses on sales and repairs instead of racing. Sendo Aichi, is a timid boy in his third year of middle school who had been living his life rather reclusively. However, when he was a kid, he was given the ‘Blaster Blade,’ a card from a card game known as ‘Vanguard’. Vanguard has a unique play system and takes place in a different planet called ‘Cray,’ making it very popular throughout the world.

She possesses ‘jewelry master’ powers that allow her to use gemstones for something other than personal decoration. With some sparkling help, she solves criminal cases related to...well...gems!

So Level holds off licensing Psychometrist Eiji's seinen sequel Psychometrer after the shounen manga's conclusion last week to give way to Adamas, which it reckons should equally appeal to Eiji fans. Okay, that's a logical fallacy—one doesn't follow the other—but I had to work in Level's If You Liked Manga X, You Would Like Manga Y Adamas recommendation somehow. If Eiji uses psychometry to catch the bad guys, Reika uses precious stones, summoned jewel spirits (Baka-Updates Manga's exclusive Adamas tag) and, I assume, the ginormous knuckles she's wearing on the cover in her crime-fighting vocation.

Don't have the Elex Hayate The Combat Butler volume 26 preview yet (only chapter titles ex-Wiki; click the «Wiki link or toggle the Hayate release link below to see). Also don't have that of Blooming Youth 9. The latter is definitely frustrating because I wanted to work in in my babble the Hanasakeru Seishounen: Tokubetsuhen volume 2 and Hanasakeru Seishounen Premium Fanbook (both released last December) pix tweep Raynelly kindly shared with me. Why? Because the sad story of Harry—HanaSei 9 cover if I'm not mistaken—appears in HanaSei Tokubetsuhen 2 *and* because Rumaty is that special story's volume 2 cover — which gives me a flimsy excuse to fangirl Rumaty-sama~! ♡ XD LiRen-sama fangirls (and boys), don't fret. Little Liren and his bishie dad also appear in Tokubetsuhen 2, assures Ray-chan.

Now back to the actual Elex titles that street on the 18th.

Book Three of the ‘Super Sensation Healing Battle’ Traumeister, Elex sez, begins with the rescue of Fabre and the arrival of Da Vinci. Picasso and Guernica have to deal with the most villainous of villains, and it doesn't help that they're as strong as they are evil.

Elex insists you don't miss out on Traumeister, especially if you're a fan of Hyde & Closer. (I think they share a premise.) Just be prepared to wait, though; the gap between volumes 2 and 3 was a year—oh, OK, 11 months if you insist on the discount.
